Install the server once. Other computers, tablets, and phones open that same server in a browser. Keep the server switched on and connect the other device to your venue’s staff Wi-Fi or wired network.
Open the same server
-
Open Access on other devices
On a device where FECForge already opens, choose Access on other devices on the sign-in screen or launcher footer. You can also use Settings → General → Access on other devices.
-
Scan or copy the address
On a phone or tablet, open the camera, scan the QR code, then tap its link. For another computer, choose Copy address and open that address in its browser. If needed, expand Need a different server address? and choose one reachable from that device.
-
Sign in with your own account
Expect the FECForge sign-in page, then your permitted applications. The QR code and shortcuts contain only the server address, not a password or automatic sign-in.
Save a Windows or Mac desktop shortcut
-
Open the panel on that computer
On the Windows computer or Mac where you want the shortcut, open FECForge and choose Access on other devices.
-
Choose your computer’s tab
Choose Windows, then Download Windows shortcut; or choose Mac, then Download Mac shortcut. Confirm the download if your browser asks.
-
Move the file to your desktop
Open Downloads in File Explorer on Windows or Finder on Mac. Move FECForge.url on Windows or FECForge.webloc on Mac to your desktop.
-
Open it next time
Double-click the shortcut and sign in. It is a website shortcut, not another server installation. A browser bookmark is also fine; in Safari use Bookmarks → Add Bookmark.
Save an iPad, iPhone, or Android home-screen shortcut
-
On iPad or iPhone, open the address in Safari
Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. You may need to tap More or scroll through the actions. Name it FECForge and tap Add.
-
On Android, open the address in Chrome
Open the three-dot menu and tap Add to Home screen. Choose Create shortcut if offered. Name it FECForge and tap Add; confirm placement if asked.
-
Check your new icon
Return to the home screen, tap FECForge, and confirm the sign-in page opens. Keep the device on the venue network when using it.
If the page does not open
-
Check the network and server
Use the staff network, not mobile data or isolated guest Wi-Fi. Confirm the server is running. If No network address is available yet appears, check its network connection and choose Check again.
-
Ask the installer to check local access
Ask them to allow the FECForge port through the local firewall and check that devices can reach each other. Do not disable the firewall or expose the server to the public internet.
-
Keep the address stable
Ask whoever manages your router to reserve the server’s IP address. If it changes, reopen Access on other devices and create new shortcuts.
