Prepare catalog items first. Start with Automatic for a quick readable menu; use Custom designer when you need to control where each element sits. Keep the original draft and check every published page on the actual TV.

1

Choose the layout

  1. Open Menu Boards → Studio

Select an existing board or choose Create menu board. Enter Board name and choose Create board.

  2. Choose Automatic or Custom designer

Switching layouts preserves both drafts. It does not publish the other layout to screens.

  3. Set Board orientation

For the custom canvas, select Landscape · 16:9 or Portrait · 9:16. Check the actual screen orientation too.

2

Build the custom canvas

  1. Choose Add blocks → Category

Set Catalog category. Use the item checkboxes to include/exclude items and the arrows to reorder them. This does not delete items from the catalog.

  2. Choose Add blocks → Catalog item

Use Search catalog to choose one item for an individual feature. Its saved name and price remain tied to the catalog.

  3. Add a text or image layer

Use text for a heading or short promotion. For an image choose an uploaded PNG, JPG, or WebP. Keep essential prices and menu descriptions readable as text.

  4. Add a panel layer

Use a panel behind a group for contrast. Set Panel background image if needed, then choose Fill frame to crop or Show whole image to preserve the whole picture.

  5. Select the layer to adjust it

Use the canvas or layer list. Change its size, position, font, and visible content in the properties controls. Lock finished layers to reduce accidental movement.

  6. Set layer order

Use Move layer backward or Move layer forward. A panel in front of text can hide it; place backgrounds behind the information guests must read.

  7. Review category readability

Use Show heading, Show descriptions, Show photos, Show prices, and Item columns as appropriate. Reduce content or enlarge the layer if overflow warnings appear.

  8. Use Undo for an accidental edit

Undo/Redo affects the current designer session. It is not a restore of older published menus or deleted venue data.

  9. Choose Save draft

Expect Unsaved to clear after a successful save. Background changes save when you finish choosing; layout changes use Save draft. Neither action alone updates the live TV.

  10. Choose Publish to screens

Resolve blocking overflow first. Check the resulting menu on the actual display; draft previews can differ from a distant TV’s readability.
